Fire and Smoke Modelling

FDS Modelling

Fire and smoke can be modelled in CFD to predict the performance of buildings in the event of fire. Taking into account the building materials and fuel loads, the modelling can predict the rate of spread of the fire and the smoke layer height in order to help Fire Engineers to optimise the building design and ensure there is sufficient time for building occupants to safely escape. By gaining a detailed understanding of the potential fire behaviour, the building’s smoke exhaust and natural ventilation design can be optimised, minimising both cost and design risk.

Fluidics has years of experience in efficiently delivering solutions for both small and very large projects and work with Fire Engineers to certify designs in the Australian, New Zealand and UK regulatory environments.
